ABOUT
Atomic Anime is a place for independant animators to upload their projects, and keep them protected under the Creative Commons copyright. This ensures that all projects must be accredited to the origonal creator at the very least. (not that hard to do.)

Since many people on the site are other animators, and fans, you should get some fairly good feedback, suggestions, and tips on how to do things. All of this is to help those who don't know how to do this stuff already to learn how.

F.A.Q.
Q: What types of videos are disallowed?
A: Live action, Slideshows (still images with background music), AMVs made with already created material, Animations with a copyright in place besides the creative commons.

Q: Does it have to be an anime?
A: Nope. I just liked the name and the .com was open, but it does have to be an animation. AKA 2d or 3d.

Q: Is there a limit to how long or large the video is?
A: Length, no, Size, yes. By size, I mean file size. The maximum is 100MB per file. Screen resolution isn't really a factor on the site as it's all rescaled down to a small size of 480x360, so the screen res doesn't matter.

Q: Why only 100MB for a video?
A: Well, the main reason is that the server I am renting only allows 100MB upload through the HTTP part of the website. If this place picks up steam, I may be able to add a feature that would allow larger sizes, but for now, that's the reason why.

Q: Is there a limit to how many video files I can have uploaded?
A: As long as you stick to the rules, no.

Q: Some of my video files just don't convert... Do you know why?
A: I've had issues personally with WMV files, and the reason is, I use FFMPEG on a windows server to convert the videos. Some versions of FFMPEG don't work with WMV files. Main reason for that is because it is actually developed for linux, and has issues decrypting WMV and WMA file formats.

Q: What about the rest of the development, like storyboards, and music?
A: At this point, I am facing the video uploading full force. I may possibly add extra sections to the site later, like Storyboard and Background musics, or sound effects. At the moment though, the main goal is to get some good independant animation up and running.

Q: Is there a way to get a larger resolution of video for my profile?
A: Not at the moment. I may set up a section of the site for subscribers (like $1 a month or something) to get larger file sizes, and a higher quality option in the upload.

Q: I uploaded a video of Naruto. (Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, other production animation) Why did it get removed?
A: Simple... That's not your material. It's got a copyright by the publishing company, so it's not legal to have here, or any video uploading site.

Q: My animation got deleted!!! What are you going to do?
A: In the case of randomly deleted material, there isn't much I can do... Maybe a server backup, but this doesn't make sense on a day to day process. For the most part, all I can say is re-upload it.
